i'm Paola!

My curiosity for capturing photographs started when I was very little, my parents let me play with a camera during a car trip when I was 2 years old and I took my first picture, which was of the sky. Photography was present all my life after that in an unconscious and subtle way and it wasn't until one Friday visiting MoMA in New York with my friends that I came across the exhibition of the work of a photographer called Nan Goldin and that inspired me enormously and I decided that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, portray people in their most authentic, emotional and real way. I studied photography at the Escuela Activa de Fotografía in Mexico City, a tiny school inside an old house in downtown Coyoacán, where my classmates and teachers became like a family to me, I lived very special and beautiful moments and most importantly, I learned to photograph and since then I have not stopped doing it. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work in something I love to do and I will be eternally grateful to life for having put this art in my path.
